The city we build downward.
A self-powered subterranean megacity — a small modular reactor at its heart, autonomous maglev for arteries, tokenised commercial tunnels for a tax base, and agritech & IP as its exports. The first city designed for a thousand-year horizon.
We have spent a century building upward and outward. AETHER is the case for building down — where the temperature is stable, the energy is free, and the land is infinite.
This is the foundational DNA: the architectural skeleton that holds the entire concept together. It proves the logic, the physics, and the economics work before a single tunnel is bored.
A small modular reactor (SMR) supplies the city with constant baseload power and, critically, waste heat — which becomes the input for district climate control and year-round agritech. Autonomous maglev moves people and freight on a vectored routing mesh with no surface traffic. Tokenised commercial tunnels turn real estate into a programmable, liquid asset class that funds the build. And the city exports what it makes best — clean compute, food, and intellectual property.
If you handed this to a builder who thinks in centuries, this is the manifesto they would read on the flight.
Drag to rotate the cutaway. Nine descending strata wrap a glowing reactor core, threaded by the maglev helix. This is the seed geometry for the full 3D engine and film set.
The surface footprint is almost nothing. Everything that matters happens in the strata below: residential terraces, commercial tunnels, vertical farms, data vaults, and at the base, the reactor that powers all of it.
The deep verticals — the physics and the spreadsheets behind the render. Figures below are concept-stage and to be replaced with the production model.
A small modular reactor delivers constant baseload power. Its waste heat is not lost — it is piped as the primary input for climate control, agritech, and desalination.
People and freight ride a vectored maglev mesh. Routing is fully autonomous — no surface traffic, no signals, just continuous flow solved as a real-time vector problem.
The city is bored, not built. Engineered tunnel rings carry the structural load while keeping the interior at a stable temperature the surface can never offer.
Commercial tunnels are issued as on-chain containers — fractional, tradable, and revenue-bearing. Real estate becomes a liquid asset class that funds the build itself.
AETHER is a net exporter. Reactor-cheap power makes its compute and food globally competitive; its designs become licensable IP for the next city.
Underground means weatherproof, blast-tolerant, and thermally efficient by default. The city is engineered for a thousand-year horizon, not a quarterly one.
One concept, three artifacts. Each stage feeds the next: the math defines the geometry, the geometry becomes the set, the set becomes the story.
The foundational DNA — physics, structure, and economics proven on paper. The skeleton everything else hangs on.
Foundation locked · Read it ↗The whitepaper becomes geometry — a navigable engine of the city, from cross-section render to walkable real-time world.
In progress · seed live aboveThe set becomes story — a sci-fi feature and book that carry the concept to a billion people, not just a boardroom.
In developmentConcept-stage model. The tokenised tunnels fund construction; exports compound the return across a 30-year horizon. Swap in the production spreadsheet before any raise.
Capex is front-loaded into the boring and the reactor; token issuance offsets it from year one. Once strata fill, export revenue compounds and the curve goes vertical. Figures illustrative — replace with the production model.
The same blueprint, told as a story — the people who build downward, and the legacy systems that fight them all the way.
When the surface becomes unlivable, one engineer bets everything on the city no one can see — and the world above does everything to bury it.
Logline · concept-stage · score, cast & treatment TBD
An engineer-founder proves the physics and economics work. The reactor lights. The first strata are bored. Belief outruns the budget.
Legacy energy, surface real estate, and the political machine move to stop a city they can't tax or control. The maglev becomes a battleground.
The tokenised tunnels fill, exports flow, and a buried city becomes the most valuable place on Earth — and a blueprint anyone can copy.
The engineer who thinks in centuries and bets the whole horizon on going down.
Surface power and capital — everything AETHER quietly makes obsolete.
AETHER itself — a character that wakes, breathes heat, and learns.
The one who chooses to live below, and shows the surface what it's missing.
The foundation is locked. The next chapter is the full production whitepaper, the navigable 3D engine, and the film treatment. We're looking for one partner who thinks in centuries — not quarters — to take AETHER from blueprint to broken ground.
